TVHEPHC00X Inductive Encoder iCs

The TVHEPHC00X is a magnet-free inductive position sensor IC suitable for high-speed absolute position sensing across automotive, industrial, medical, and consumer applications. It employs the concept of eddy currents to detect the position of a metal target moving over a coil setup. This setup can be customized to consist of either one transmitter and two receivers or one transmitter and three receivers, based on customer needs. The coils are usually created as copper traces on a printed circuit board (PCB) and are arranged in a way that allows the transmitter to induce a secondary voltage between the two receivers. The value of this voltage indicates the target's position. The output can be demodulated and processed to yield the positional signal of the target relative to the coils. The target can be various metals, including aluminum, steel, or PCB materials with printed copper layers.
