TVALTW123X Ambient Light Sensors iCs

The TVALTW123X is an ambient light sensor designed to measure light intensity akin to human vision. With its precise spectral response and strong infrared (IR) filtering capabilities, it accurately gauges light intensity independently of the light source. This feature is particularly beneficial for industrial designs where sensors need to be mounted behind dark glass for aesthetic reasons, as the robust IR blocking helps ensure high accuracy. The TVALTW123X is tailored for systems aimed at creating experiences similar to human sight, making it an excellent alternative to photodiodes, photoresistors, and other ambient light sensors that poorly match human sensitivity and have limited IR filtering. The measurement range spans from 0.1 lux to 10000 lux, enabling light measurements within a 23-bit effective dynamic range while allowing for adaptable digital integration in systems. Measurements can be performed continuously or triggered with a single pulse. Its control and interrupt system also features autonomous operation, enabling the processor to stay in sleep mode as the sensor identifies relevant wake-up events and communicates via the interrupt pin.
